** All about Sagittarius

Sagittarians are classically known as the 'favorites of the gods' for good reason: These folks are famous for generosity, humor and optimism, and for the ability to see the best is every situation, no matter how dire the circumstances. A Sagittarius will find a real reason to celebrate each and every day -- due in no small part to Jupiter, the planet most known for benevolence, and the Archer's planetary ruler. Of course, the other side of that coin is excess and extravagance. So in addition to knowing how to laugh -- and how to make others laugh -- Sagittarians are also experts at overdoing everything. At the same time, if a Sag really does have to be restricted to just one of anything, it had better be the biggest or most impressive of its kind -- literally, a one-of-a-kind object.

Sagittarians are also famous for their love of travel and philosophy; they crave knowledge, and will spare no effort to satisfy that innate curiosity. Sag's own personal philosophy is that life is really nothing more than a series of extended vacations -- hence the reason so many born under the sign of the archer end up living in a different city, state or even country than where they were born.

When it comes to relationships, Sagittarians often find that some of their most successful ones are with four-legged creatures -- their connection to anything with fur, feathers and even leaves is legendary. Romantically speaking, if you're a human, you can only 'have' a Sag of your very own if you're willing to hold on with an open palm. Restrictions will not be tolerated. However, if you let your Sag sweetie know you care, but allow them to live as they see fit, you'll have gained an intelligent, witty and highly impressive partner whose long-term loyalty will astound you. One warning, though: Don't ever ask these folks a question if you don't really want to hear the answer. Sagittarians aren't known for their ability to lie. They'd much rather tell the truth, regardless of the consequences -- because that way, at least they can be sure that you know exactly who they are. So while they can get along with just about anyone, Sagittarians are most drawn to the other fire signs, who also live by the motto 'what you see is truly what you get.' No games.

** Your Starcast for November 22 to December 20

November 22: Sun enters Sagittarius

Get off the couch, get out of your neighborhood and spice up your life with this exciting transit that begins as the Sun enters Sagittarius on November 22! But be prepared for last-minute changes when, two days later, independent Uranus turns direct during a full Moon in Gemini. Expect the unexpected should be your motto with this one. On December 1, Mercury enters Sagittarius, and speaking the truth will be important. Just make sure you think twice before you do. Relationship-loving Venus enters Scorpio on December 5, and you'll want to make a deep soul connection. Then, the new Moon in Sagittarius on December 9 emphasizes the travel theme so prevalent throughout this solar period. The every-13-years Jupiter conjunct Pluto occurs on December 11, when you'll want to direct all the power of this duo. It's time to transform your world, so decide ahead of time what you want to do with this life-transforming energy. Finally, the last week of this period brings enormous shifts with the north node entering free-spirited Aquarius on December 18, followed by Jupiter's transit into achievement-oriented Capricorn. Saturn turns retrograde on December 19, starting a review that will take you into next year.

November 22: Sun enters Sagittarius

As the Sun travels though this nomadic fire sign, you're ready to jump out of your day-to-day routines and explore something different. Spread your wings and get an aerial view of life. Is there something that would spark your enthusiasm and give your existence greater meaning? With philosophical Sagittarius, you're free to ask the bigger questions and might just be surprised at the answers!

November 24: Uranus turns direct

When Uranus turned retrograde last June 23, you began a period of review, taking into account your desire for authenticity. Events demonstrated where you needed to make changes. Now, as this independent, maverick planet changes direction, the themes of freedom and change are once again highlighted, not only for you but the world at large as well. Move out of routines that don't represent you anymore. Surprising events can shake up your world. Just when you think you know what's going on, something happens to make sure you're paying attention!

November 24: Full Moon in Gemini

The emotional high tide is in -- and in a talkative sign! Full Moons are known for heightened feelings, and when in communicative Gemini, it's time to declare your emotions. Plenty of emails, phone calls and text messages mark this period. Yet, with Saturn squaring the full Moon, there is a censor in the midst. And Mercury, Gemini's ruler, squares Neptune, making for garbled communications or even deception. In the larger world, there's a lot of attention on what people say and believe. In your own world, make sure to carefully think through any messages before sending. Uranus is stationary during this full Moon, and that often indicates a surprising turn of events.

This full Moon will most affect those born November 22-26, February 20-23, May 22-25 and August 24-27.

November 26: Venus trines Neptune

Have you been thinking about signing up for an online dating service, or fantasizing about a getaway to rev-up your romantic life? Venus in relationship-oriented Libra forms a supportive trine to dreamy Neptune, the planet of spiritual love, making this a perfect time to invest in your significant others. Neptune loves atmosphere, so turn the lights down, put on your favorite music and create a memorable experience!

November 30: Sun squares Saturn

The Sun in Sagittarius is focused on travel and freedom. But in this square to Saturn -- which is in hardworking Virgo -- your responsibilities are highlighted. You have business to take care of, and this will restrict your freedom of movement. As frustrating as that may feel, this is an important aspect where you can step up to the plate and meet your obligations with a good attitude. Any over-reaching will get your hand smacked, so conserve your energy and make the most of this time.

December 1: Mercury enters Sagittarius

With Mercury in Sagittarius, there's a tendency to blurt out whatever's on one's mind. As amusing as it can be to watch others retracting what they said and apologizing for it, do yourself a favor and count to 10 before you speak. Otherwise you might find yourself in that spin cycle too. On the up side, this is a fabulous time to get your ideas out there. Your enthusiasm will be contagious.

December 2: Venus sextiles Jupiter

The good life beckons when Venus, the planet of pleasure, is stimulated by Jupiter, the planet of abundance. Although many astrological texts caution against overindulgence, the benefits of feeding your body, mind and spirit can be soul expanding -- and fun, too! So, make your food choice gourmet instead of fast-food, read for pleasure instead of work, and be kind to your spirit. Your heart yearns for delightful experiences. With Venus in social Libra, and Jupiter in travel-loving Sagittarius, get outside of your day-to-day environment and do something fabulous! December 5: Venus enters Scorpio Looking for you soul mate? As Venus, the relationship planet, heads into the most passionate sign of the zodiac, nothing less than profound will satisfy you. Casual conversations won't interest you, neither will people with commitment issues. If you're single, you are more likely to meet someone if you engage in an activity that you enjoy. Married or in a serious relationship? Choose a cause in which you both feel strongly, and find out what the power of two can do! December 7: Sun square Uranus When the Sun in nomadic Sagittarius encounters independent Uranus in this challenging square aspect, it's time to step out of your comfort zone. Although your beliefs may have held you in good stead up to now, you need to make important changes to improve your journey. Don't resist any messages you receive. This aspect will still be around in the approaching new Moon chart, which means that you'll experience this theme throughout the month.

December 9: New Moon in Sagittarius The lunar cycle has a natural progression from the new Moon to the first quarter Moon to the full Moon, when the Moon is increasing in light. Then we have the second quarter Moon and then it goes back to the new Moon. This takes a little over 29 days. It's good to keep this in mind when the Moon is new, since a new Moon is always a time of beginnings. Institute something that you want to grow or to become stronger. At the next full Moon, which will occur on December 23, you'll have the opportunity to stand back and assess how far you've come. By the time this year closes, you'll have a great sense about what you want to bring into the new year. In Sagittarius, you're ready to spread your wings and travel outside your own neighborhood. There is a big wide world out there -- and it's time to explore it! This new Moon will most affect those born December 7-11, March 6-10, June 6-10 and September 8-12.

December 11: Jupiter conjunct Pluto

About once every 13 years, expansive Jupiter conjuncts transformative Pluto, and because this event occurs in Sagittarius this time around, it's time to open your world. You won't want to play it safe -- the sky's the limit! There is extraordinary power in this conjunction, and you will feel every bit of it. What do you want to accomplish? Do you want a relationship or a new job? Perhaps you feel moved to make a contribution to world peace or to help the planet. Don't waste this time. Choose something. Do something. May the force be with you!

December 11: Venus trine Mars

Your relationships benefit as Venus, the planet of love, and Mars, the planet of desire, form a harmonious aspect. Make reservations at your favorite restaurant for a romantic evening. Don't have a mate right now? Since Mars is retrograde, contact somebody from your past. Google an old flame, pick up the phone or send an email. You won't want to be alone now.

December 11: Sun sextile Neptune

When the Sun in enthusiastic Sagittarius connects with idealistic Neptune in humanitarian Aquarius, you have everything you need to manifest the life of your dreams. In this season of charitable giving, include someone else or an organization whose aims support your vision for a better world. What a great time to take some of the blessings life has bestowed upon you, and pass them forward!

December 18: North Node enters Aquarius

The north node/south node axis represents respectively the future and the past. The north node points to the direction that can bring fulfillment and a greater sense of purpose, while the south node represents a collective past that, while yielding helpful information, should not hold too much of your attention. Aquarius is all about group energy, while Leo inspires creativity and leadership. Simply put, teamwork moves you forward, and being to self-focused holds you back.

December 18: Jupiter enters Capricorn

With the entrance into Capricorn, social Jupiter joins serious Saturn in Virgo. This marks a major shift in orientation for countries -- and for you personally. Enough with all of the excitable air-fire orientation of the last year! Put away your passport, park your car in the garage and turn your attention to what you want to achieve. Pay attention to those areas of your life that you want to build. Hard work pays off and you may even come to someone's attention -- perhaps a benefactor who will help you. Once Pluto joins Jupiter in this sign in January 2008, your desire to achieve something worthwhile intensifies. The keywords are 'self-sufficiency' and 'maturity.' Finally -- a grownup in the house!

December 19: Saturn turns retrograde

How can you support yourself more effectively? Saturn, the builder, turns retrograde for the first time since entering Virgo last September 2, initiating a period of review. You've had a chance to put into practice Saturn in Virgo's requirements of hard work and becoming more efficient. Your responsibilities to yourself and others -- particularly as they concerned your work and your health -- have been important areas of focus. This review period will last until May 2, 2008 when Saturn turns direct. Until then, analyze and make necessary changes, as you create a solid foundation for the year ahead.

December 20: Mercury enters Capricorn

Three times a year when the communication planet Mercury transits through earth signs, we are given the opportunity to think sensibly. In Capricorn, the keyword is 'pragmatic.' Setting goals and implementing commonsense changes are the focus now. What do you want to achieve, how will you communicate your desires and with whom will you talk about them? Your career goals can get a boost as you turn your thinking to advancing yourself in this area.

Enjoy the Sun's transit in Sagittarius!

** Astrolesson: Jupiter Transits

Jupiter -- Sagittarius' ruling planet -- spends one year in each sign, and therefore takes 12 years to transit through all 12 signs. Since Jupiter is one of the social planets, (the other is Saturn), the sign that Jupiter transits through has something to say about how you want to step out of your personal life and into the world at large. November 23, 2006 marked Jupiter's entrance Sagittarius, the sign of the explorer, when it was time to get your travel gear dusted off. For the last year, you've probably been yearning for an adventure, and your need for independence has been strong. Hopefully you've paid attention to those urges. Did you take that vacation you've been dreaming about, or enroll in those classes to broaden your knowledge? When Jupiter forms an aspect to outer planets, the social trend symbolized by Jupiter connects with the collective energy of the outer planet. For example, Jupiter conjuncts Pluto on December 11, bringing the principles of expansion (Jupiter) together with the intensity of Pluto. This is powerful energy and extremely political. Watch for new social policies with this one. Keep an eye on this so you can see how social and collective planets together can set new social trends. Because this also happens in your own chart, look to the house where this conjunction takes place so that you can use this dynamic energy to set a new trend for yourself. By December 18, Jupiter enters serious Capricorn, which will institute a brand new trend. But that is another lesson for another day!
