Do Something Different
01/07/08 - 01/13/08
A new year and new ideas! You will have plenty of brilliant thoughts with Mercury's entrance into Aquarius on January 7. It's fortunate that Mercury's journey though Aquarius is followed by a new Moon in practical Capricorn on January 8, giving you plenty of drive and initiative. When Venus, the love planet, squares independent Uranus on January 12, it's time to get out of your ordinary routines and do something completely different. All in all, what a great way to start the year!
January 7: Mercury enters Aquarius
Sometimes it's important to approach everything with a great deal of practicality. But when Mercury, the planet of communication, enters free-spirited Aquarius, inspiration rules! You have truly original ideas and now is the time to stay with them, develop them, and speak about them. If you know which house in your chart Mercury is traveling through, you can apply those ideas to that area of your life.
January 8: New Moon in Capricorn
A new year is often a time when we feel a renewed sense of purpose. A new Moon also marks a time of new beginnings. Capricorn is a sign that loves to build something, so for those of you who haven't made your New Year's resolutions, figure out what you'd like to accomplish this year and use this powerful new Moon to plan, strategize and focus on what you want to achieve. Keep in mind the smaller steps needed to reach your long-term goals, and see what headway you can make by the next full Moon on January 22. Whatever you do, take action to make your life secure through tangible goals. Remember, every journey begins with the first step!
January 12: Venus square Uranus
In your relationships, can you be close and free at the same time? Events cause you to evaluate your connections with others to see if your needs for freedom and independence are being honored. This is also a social time, and you'll want to connect with like-minded people -- those you know already and those you would like to meet. It's time to shake up your relationships a bit to keep them interesting!
