The most security-conscious Sun signs are Capricorn, Taurus and Cancer -- and to some degree, Scorpio. Capricorn starts planning for retirement practically the day after they graduate from college, so they always seem to have funds in reserve. Likewise, Taurus hates feeling the money pinch and always needs to know that their life can continue on a steady and secure path. Cancer is instinctively insecure, so they'll hoard for a rainy day; headstrong Scorpio, meanwhile, will certainly never put themselves in a position where they'll have to rely on others for a loan.

Virgo has a reputation for being careful and tidy with their money ... but the reality is that the reverse is often true. They can spend wildly throughout their young adult years, although with maturity they usually learn to plan well ahead.

The Fire signs -- Aries, Sagittarius and Leo -- all possess an unshakable faith that their luck will hold. In fact, these signs believe their guardian angel will always turn up in the nick of time (which it sometimes does), so they often don't see the need to save money if it will deprive them of instant fun. They would do well with a sensible partner who can keep their finances on track!

Watery Pisces's financial philosophy isn't too different from that of the three Fire signs. They aren't necessarily impulsive, but they simply aren't tuned in enough to reality at times -- especially with more mundane aspects like keeping their checkbook balanced. As a result, they often learn the hard way that there isn't quite enough cash to cover expenses at month's end.

Among the Air signs, Libra is certainly the most extravagant ... but they also greatly fear social embarrassment, so they'll smartly have a slush fund set aside for emergencies. Gemini and Aquarius, on the other hand, don't care what anyone else thinks and aren't really concerned with long-term security or financial planning. They often dance perilously close to the edge, routinely having to rescue themselves by sheer ingenuity.
