Astrology-based dishes may bring about optimal bliss. Depending on the planetary alignment, the Sun and the Moon, we can prepare delicious recipes to help the capriciousness of the Stars! Here are my recipes of the week in celebration of the Full Moon in Pisces and Virgo.

"Eat for your Body, Cook for your Soul"

Besides being a delight, these dishes will enhance the attributes of Virgo and Pisces.

You can prepare the salad one day in advance; eat it alone, as an appetizer, or antipasto. The other two dishes, will make a great meal at any time. Just make sure you do not overcook the green beans; they should be nice and crunchy.

Moon Chicken Salad

2 smoked chicken breasts

2 plums, peeled and chopped

4 green apples, peeled and chopped

1 avocado, deseeded and squared

¼ cup red onion, chopped

juice of 2 lemons, or 1 orange

some dried cranberries

1 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil

½ cup light cream + 2 tsp light mayonnaise

Shred the chicken.  Chop the apples and the plums into small pieces also. Cut the avocado into small chunks. In a large bowl combine all ingredients, add the cream and mayonnaise; combine these two before adding. If necessary add a pinch of salt.

Mustardy Grilled Steak

1 large flank steak, or skirt

sea salt & fresh pepper

¼ cup Worcestershire sauce

2 tbs mustard

Clean and dry the steak with a napkin. Season with salt and pepper. In a large bowl, mix the Worcestershire sauce and the mustard.  Marinate the steak in the sauce and the mustard for 20 minutes.

Turn the oven on the broil setting. Place an oven-proof dish with water beneath the grill on which you will cook the steak. The steak should be cooked directly on the grill.  The dish with water will serve to add moisture and to catch the grease that falls.  Broil for 7-8 minutes on each side. Remove and let rest, covered with aluminum foil, for 3 minutes. Then serve immediately.

Sautéed Green Beans

fresh green beans, cut into 1-inch pieces

olive oil to drizzle

1 clove of garlic, chopped

salt and pepper

dash of nutmeg

Heat a large pan. Add the olive oil and the garlic. In goes the dash of nutmeg and then add the green beens. Sauté the greens beans for two minutes.  You want to warm them enough through but not overcook them. Remove and sprinkle with some sea salt and pepper.

Don't miss the Weekly Cocktail to feel the bliss and close the week with the right drink.
