Change- Across the Divide- Fixed Signs

We each deal with change and uncertainty differently. Some of us will intentionally navigate the uncertainty using the best and most positive aspects in out chart. However, during times of change and crisis we may unconsciously turn towards the shadow side of our Sun sign. Another approach might be to instead look at the sign opposite yours in the zodiac for clues to help you deal with the change.

Fixed Pairings

The strength of fixed signs is their ability to solidify change and make it real. Their stability provides a sanity check against unwise change initiated by the Cardinal signs, and which the Mutable would happily adopt without investing appropriate thought into the outcomes. During times of uncertainty, the instinct of Fixed signs is to hold onto the status quo. Indeed there are times where this action is totally warranted, but there are other occasions where change can not be avoided. At these times the skill of the Fixed Signs is to question, verify and then move forward.

Taurus represents strength, focus and determination. Once on a course, the bull will stop for nothing and no-one. Obstacles simply do not exist. Taurus' instinct during periods of change however, is to move only when absolutely necessary and to hold on to what is known to be secure. Scorpio can encourage Taurus to question the change and its' root cause. The answers to these questions will enable Taurus to eliminate that which is not necessary and engage emotionally with what needs to be done.

Scorpio has the ability to absolutely transform the status quo into something completely unrecognisable. She will, however, treat all change with distrust until she is satisfied that all the data has been examined and is found to be correct. For Scorpio, everything is personal. During periods of change, Scorpio would be well served by using the available security and looking objectively rather than subjectively at what is happening. Taurus' earthy practicality can allow space to keep compulsion and emotion to one side- at least until all analysis has been completed.

Leo has the natural warmth and charisma to inspire and vitalise and change effort. His pride in everything he does ensures total commitment. This pride and a fear of appearing not at his best can mean Leo shies away from new experiences and change. The challenge with Leo is to find the courage required to step into a new spotlight. It can help to look towards Aquarius on these occasions. Aquarius is concerned with matters beyond self and can help with the mental detachment required to separate logic from fear. Provide Leo with the information, the structure, and an understanding of the end point and he can shine on a changed stage.

Aquarius strengths lie in his head. He is visionary, future focused and free thinking. During times of change he can, however, hold tightly onto his version of the future, to the extent that he is unable to entertain compromise. As a result, despite the great ideas, no forward motion is achieved. Picture the IT genius who refuses to step down from his design of the perfect network. The business may not be able to justify the capital spend required to convert this vision into reality, but he is not prepared to compromise his solution in order to meet business needs. As a result nothing happens. In such circumstances it would help Aquarius to think more about himself and his personal satisfaction rather than a detached endpoint- his personal pride and accomplishment in achieving a solution which meets all needs- the creative flame of Leo.
