The Queen has arrived: she emanates nobility and self-possession. When she speaks, you hear singularity of vision and purpose. At best, she's got inner authority, she's generous with it, and enjoys using her power to help others discover their own. At worst, she gives her considerable power away. That's when the Queen becomes a self-righteous Diva or a B****.
The Queen thrives in committed relationship because that's where she best fulfills her purpose. That's when we want delivery on everything we dreamed this partnership could be. The question: can I have it all (with this person)? is asked. The Queen has one of two responses: disappointment or fulfillment. Your inner Queen's answer depends on: whether you've chosen the right King, how you use your power in the relationship, how responsive you are to your own needs and whether you've identified your vision & purpose. If you have visions of fulfillment he will help you manifest them. It's unfair to ask him to do what you can't do for you, though we do this sometimes: these terrible requests show us just how excellent we are at making our relationships a living hell. Projection, disowning our power, letting fears of abandonment rule us, bitchiness, martyrdom, even psychological cruelty all fall under the dark Queen's domain. Yes, the Queen can be the cruelest dictator.
The Queen has mythic roots but her story is a modern one. Juno came to be a Queen by marrying Jupiter, the King of Heaven. But not long after the Honeymoon ended, the power ploys and games began. As punishment for his perceived neglect and her disappointment: Juno bound Jupiter to their marital bed, used the children against him, disguised her self as the other woman to trick him, withheld sex, and even left home for periods of without leaving a note! Meanwhile Jupiter continued his affairs, both business and sexual. Sound like any marriage you know? In our modern world when we see one partner chronically unhappy and enraged while the other watches t.v. or is absent in some other way, a mythic drama is taking place. It's a pattern as old as time.
The Queen/Juno also answers the age old question: what do woman want? There are only two acceptable answers. 1). Everything. She wants it all. -and- 2). If you really want to know - ask. She will tell you (and if you don't want to know don't ask. Or ask but don't really listen.)
The Queen wants the sacrifices she's made for the relationship (child rearing, moving across the country for his career etc.), acknowledged and valued. Your inner Queen needs meaning and purpose so devoting all her time to Ceres/the Mother archetype - raising kids and cooking meals can lead to imbalance. She wants her needs for emotional, sexual, and spiritual fulfillment taken seriously by her partner. The Queen has high standards, expects excellence, nobility and integrity from her King and holds herself to those same standards. So court jesters need not apply. The Queen wants a King who will share and support her vision. In return she'll be beautiful, commanding and generous - the Queen that every successful King wants on his arm!
The Queen is ruled by the asteroid, Juno, is associated with the signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and is strong for those who have Juno prominent in their birth chart.
Come back for the Mother/Ceres!
