Daringly-shaped Sugar Cookies

If you have a sweet tooth, this will be the perfect time to bake something delicious by using a funky cookie cutter. Pay a visit to the store and find a fun cookie cutter, something with an untraditional shape like lips, a fleur-de-lis, a doggie bone, even something scandalous. Prepare my Sugar Cookie recipe below and present your friends with these daringly-shaped cookies. Besides bringing pleasure to their taste buds, you will also break free from what is expected and start dictating your own future. You will at least get some respect and know who your real friends are.

Sugar Cookies

• 2½ cups flour
• 1 cup unsalted butter, soft
• 1 ½ cups sugar
• 1 egg, lightly beaten
• 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Cream butter and sugar with a hand blender until smooth. Add the egg and the vanilla extract. Mix well.

Place the flour in a bowl and make a hole in the center.

Add the butter mixture and sugar into the center hole. Using your fingers, incorporate all the ingredients, but do not over-mix. Divide the dough in half, wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the first half of dough with a floured rolling pin. 

Cut circles of about 2 inches and place on an ungreased baking sheet, 1 inch apart. 

Bake cookies in preheated oven at 350 ° for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove and let cool.
