The seasonal shift affects our bodies more than we imagine. As those of us in the Northern Hemisphere deal with colder weather, it's important to adjust what we eat to suit our signs so we can remain at optimum physical well-being.
Aries is constantly on the go and doesn't always eat sensibly; in winter, it's even more vital that they remember to nurture their bodies. Eating good carbohydrates and upping their fat intake slightly should help keep them running at full speed.
Taurus never needs any prompting to switch to heavier food; quite the reverse, actually! They just need to be careful they don't overdo it on bread, potatoes and sweet desserts. They're best off focusing on proteins to give them vitality.
Gemini does well with salads to calm down their nerves. They should avoid too much caffeine or spice during the colder season, while more fish and white meat will give them zip.
Cancer appreciates winter's solid fare, but needs to be wary of too much milk, cheese and other dairy items. If they can aim for moderation and less starch in their eating regimen, they'll do just fine.
Leo adores summertime, so when it disappears they tend to overindulge on red meat, soft drinks and fried foods. If they can eat rice with their main course rather than potatoes, and fruit rather than sweet desserts, they'll be in good shape.
Virgo is a fastidious eater and usually very well-informed about what they need to eat. If they're wise, they'll opt for more soups, fish and whole wheat pasta.
Libra would do well to shift from salads to cooked vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower and spinach. They're easily tempted by rich foods, but they need to convince themselves to eat white meat and fish for energy -- without putting on bulk!
Scorpio certainly has quirky food tastes, but they generally eat well. They need high levels of fish oil in their diet, so they should try salmon and trout in winter, along with plenty of veggies.
Sagittarius tends to eat on the run, but since they need more fuel in the winter, they need to learn how to sit down and eat slowly. Lentils and nuts will do them plenty of good, along with vegetable soups containing pasta and potatoes.
Capricorn is a creature of winter and revels in festive fare. They need not go overboard, though, and should make every effort to cut back on rich foods. In fact, they'll keep themselves just as warm on yogurt, beans, cheese and fish.
Aquarius has to maintain good circulation throughout the winter, so they'd be smart to stock up on pumpkin seeds, oranges, nuts -- and garlic!
Pisces needs to keep their lymphatic system flowing, so they should avoid foods with preservatives and additives. Too much fat and gobs of sugar are tempting in chilly weather, but are just no good in the long run.
