Donna Summer - one of the greats

American singer-songwriter and disco queen Donna Summer has died. Born 31 December 1948 at 9pm Boston, MA, USA she said she reckoned she contracted the lung cancer which killed her from breathing in toxic particles in New York on 9/11.

She had a chart with five planets including Sun and Moon in her entertaining 5^{th house so was born to be a star. Her Capricorn Sun was conjunct expansive, enthusiastic Jupiter square musical Neptune in the 2nd and in a steady, hard working trine to Saturn in Virgo on her Ascendant. She also had Moon Mars Mercury in late Capricorn trine her Gemini Midheaven so would be feisty and outspoken. Her Neptune is further emphasised being on the point of a mini Grand Trine of Venus in colourful Sagittarius trine Pluto. So she was talented, charming, persuasive.}

On 9/11 her Solar Arc Saturn had moved to exactly square her Moon causing her grief and maybe physical damage as well. This year transiting Saturn has been square her Moon though not exact at the moment and tr Pluto which had been grinding its way over the past two years in trine to her Saturn was moving to conjunct her Sun next year. So a heavy time.

Tr Jupiter at the moment is poised to move across her 10th house so her name will be much more prominent in coming months with retrospectives and memorials. It may seem odd to point to a chart after death but it does seem to hold relevance.
