The new Julia Roberts film – Eat, Pray, Love - directed by Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck, Glee etc)is based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s book about her year long travels seeking peace of mind after her divorce in Italy, India and Thailand.
Julia Roberts (28 Oct 1967 12.16 am Atlanta, GA, US) is now taking more substantial roles after her voluntary semi-retirement to have children as tr Saturn moved for several years through her lower profile first quadrant. Saturn is now about to move into her 4th so she’ll be gearing up for a harder working, more visible time ahead.
She’s a 4th house Sun in Scorpio with Mercury Neptune also in Scorpio so she is doubly private and keen to have a solid home life. She’s also got four planets in hard working Virgo – Jupiter conjunct a late Leo Moon in the 2nd, improving her chances of earning a good deal; and Venus Pluto Uranus in the 3rd so she’s intense, seductive, keen to communicate though also quite unpredictable. She has a bucket chart with all planets bar one contained within a wide trine with self-reliant Saturn in Aries being the singleton so she’s very focussed on work plus she has Mars in earthy Capricorn in the hard working 6th.
Her Jupiter (Moon) trine Mars and sextile onto her Sun so she’s got the confidence and determination to make her ambitions stick.
Next year Jupiter moves across her 10th from spring onwards which will keep her on a high career-wise though she also has less useful influences. Solar Arc Neptune square Saturn in late 10/11 is uncertain; tr Neptune square her Solar Arc MC in 11/12 is directionless. And she has a difficult tr Pluto square her singleton Saturn and tr Uranus conjunct which will throw her onto a different track though it’ll be a very bumpy process.
Ryan Murphy ((30 Nov 1965) is a thoughtful, enthusiastic, scattered Sun Mercury in Sagittarius though a downbeat square to a regretful Saturn (Moon) in Pisces will make him discouraged at times. His Mercury squares Uranus Pluto in Virgo making him highly strung and quite changeable. Jupiter in Gemini makes up a very out-of-orb Mutable Grand Square – so he’ll be constantly racing off in all directions at once. What will anchor him down somewhat is Mars in ambitious Capricorn which is in a disciplined sextile to his Saturn and a determined trine to Pluto Uranus.
Elizabeth Gilbert, the novelist and short story writer whose memoir is the basis of the film (18 July 1969) is an emotional self protective Sun Mercury in Cancer in a trine to creative, spiritual Neptune and to crusading Mars in early Sagittarius. Her showbizzy Mars Neptune trine Sun Mercury sextiles onto a focal point Pluto Jupiter Uranus – so she’s quite a powerhouse, lucky, adventurous, controlling.
