Elizabeth Warren - anti-Wall Street

Elizabeth Warren has been elected to Ted Kennedy’s old seat in the Senate. A favorite of the Democratic party’s liberal wing she ran for Senate after President Obama decided not to nominate her as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, designed to help protect ordinary Americans from shoddy financial products. She championed the idea as a lawyer and worked as an Obama administration adviser after the law’s passage to build the agency from scratch.

She won a prime-time speaking role at the party’s national convention, using it to highlight her anti-Wall Street credentials and warn that the industry was far from abashed about the damage from the financial crisis.

"Wall Street CEOs -- the same ones who wrecked our economy and destroyed millions of jobs -- still strut around Congress, no shame, demanding favors, and acting like we should thank them," Warren said at the convention. "Anyone here have a problem with that? Well I do."

She started her career working with disabled children, then moved into academic law, working on bankruptcy and has recently focused on the plight of middle class families buckling under financial pressure.

Born 22 June 1949 she’s a reforming Sun Uranus in Cancer which sits on one leg of a Yod in sextile to Saturn in hard working Virgo inconjunct a focal point Jupiter in Aquarius. That Jupiter has a capacity - once clicked into place – for having positive social influence and a strong effect on public awareness.

She also has an argumentative Mercury Mars in Gemini trine Neptune, sextile Pluto – so she’s idealistic and influential, has deep insight though will arouse hostility since her views push against the status quo.

It is hardly surprising she doesn’t get on too well with President Obama since her emphasised Pluto is conjunct his Sun so he’ll feel dominated or manipulated by her. Her Mars is conjunct his Moon and her Sun Uranus are conjunct his Venus so she’s not a comfortable presence for him. It is a pity since both have Jupiter in Aquarius and with her Saturn conjunct his Pluto they could move mountains together.

Their relationship chart has a very combustible, short-fuse composite Mars Uranus conjunction so they’ll tend to push each other into ill advised actions or comments. The tensions would look to be mounting between them from late January onwards thro’ 2013/14/15 – so not exactly rowing in the same direction.
