"May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children."
-- Rainer Maria Rilke
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance."
-- Alan Wilson Watts
Our emotional sensitivity is off the charts this month with a Grand Water Trine -- a triangle in the sky between three planets in Water signs, in this case Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter -- July 17 through 19. Are your Water-sign friends losing it at the drop of a hat? Trines are more about being -- and in this case feeling -- more than doing. So consider this a time where mushy, gushy expression rules. Let the watery magic flow.
This is a welcome break, like a nice ride on a water slide after all of the tension of eclipses and squares and other challenging aspects setting off all of our triggers. Consider this a healing grace period where you can reconnect to flow. The danger of this is a real potential for laziness or totally getting lost in a sea of emotions.
Although many astrologers are heralding this as our lucky break of the summer, remember that the tendency of water is to go down and our feelings can often take us inward and down into the depths of despair if we're not careful. This aspect reminds me of Picasso's painting the "weeping woman." Crying is a given during this time as our feelings dominate and we will feel everything times ten to the core of our being.
There is a very beautiful spiritual component to this Grand Water Trine where we can pick up on the subtle layers of divine essence both within and around us. Increased sensitivity to energy and how feelings affect our subtle as well as physical bodies come into play now. If we work with the effortless harmony of this creative aspect and channel our feelings into our dreams, we can enjoy the fertile energy of this triangular pattern.
Saturn helps us crystalize the vision of Neptune and to give concrete form to the wisdom of Jupiter. The purpose of the Grand Water Trine is to connect us to something greater and remind us to get out of our heads and into the flow of feeling and sensitivity. The potential for empathy and compassion is tremendous now if we use this Grand Trine to tune into the magic of the Water element.
