What is my purpose? That’s the main question I’m asked as an astrologer. As a dream therapist, I follow the dream story to help people discover where their quest for purpose is taking them.
While astrology can help us know ourselves and the energies we’ve come into the world to work with, dreams take us into those energies and show us how we are using them in a specific moment.
This dreamer is trying to find her purpose. She’s been through some disappointments and feels devoid of creativity. She had this dream:
I am lying on the ground in the hallway by my childhood bedroom. It is nighttime. There is a group of teenage boys outside the house with bags. They are heading off to go someplace and a few stick around saying we should take a car. I’m ready to go with them and am trying to be quiet because my family is asleep.
At the time of the dream, this woman had Neptune (imagination, spirituality, illusion) on her Jupiter (teaching, curiosity, expansion), opening her to imagine a new life. It was also the Spring Equinox, a time when we look for new life to come to us.
It’s fascinating how dreams work. While this woman is opening herself to new life, the dream takes her back to her childhood. When we dream of our childhood homes, it generally means that we are back in an old mindset that was influenced by our parents. In this dream, the dreamer is lying outside her bedroom door, ready to make her escape. Her old dreams are no longer viable. She‘s ready for something new.
That something new comes in the form of teenage boys, coming to ‘sneak’ her out of the house. The dreamer commented that when she was young, her parents were very strict and she could never sneak out of the house. It seems that this time she’ll be able to!
A group of young men like these teenagers are always ready for some kind of adventure. And that’s exactly what these guys want to bring her. They have bags, so they’ve brought whatever supplies they might need. They’re prepared. Also, teenage boys have a lot of energy, which can be thrilling or dangerous, depending on how it’s used. I would say that some of the energy is available for this woman’s work, since some of the boys want to use a car to travel with. There’s already a form to put the energy into.
While this dream doesn’t make clear what the dreamer’s purpose is, it does give an indication that perhaps it relates back to some of her adolescent hopes and dreams. It definitely indicates that there’s a lot of energy available to pursue her goals, once she decides what she wants to do.
New Life is always available to us. We just have to open to it.
Until next time,
Sweet Dreams!
