Jupiter, the planet of opportunity and expansion, is moving direct on Wednesday (1/30), having been retrograde since October. If it’s been hard to expand your business, publish, travel, get your higher education in order and generally get the word out to the right people, Jupiter now brings benefit to all these areas.

This planet also lords over faith and possibility and when it’s strong we can feel like we’re unstoppable. Look to the house in your chart Jupiter is transiting, and the house(s) Jupiter rules (Jupiter rules Sagittarius, and is co-ruler of Pisces) to see what area of your life will receive an infusion of optimism, hope and faith.

However, there’s a strong reality check on 1/30, too, as Saturn rules the reality principle and he’s square the Sun. As Jupiter presses us to push boundaries into brave, new territories, Saturn will remind us that some boundaries must be honored. Saturn in Scorpio asks us to work with and process our stubborn emotional blockages to change which also means seeing all the reasons why we don't want to change. The fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio) are fixed, and this means stubborn! So the more we work with our rigidity around where we are stuck, the nearer to the deep changes we want. What we refuse to squarely, honestly face on Wednesday can come back and haunt us with consequences, later. Saturn demands we approach all dealings with integrity and wisdom. Just as Saturn will square the Sun on 1/30, so too it will square Venus in Aquarius February 8-12. Those of us with planets between 10-15 degrees of fixed signs will experience relationship challenges now. It’s important to be in integrity at this time, respect other’s wishes, needs and desires no matter how different we are from each other. Diversity is beautiful. We don’t have to agree with another to honor them. If the relationship is important to us, we might try and meet the person halfway by compromising on a hard issue as long as it doesn’t compromise our self. Saturn is the planet of maturity: behave like adults and speak to the factual, not the emotional, content of what’s happening, the more likely we are to emerge unscathed. Saturn can put the kebosh on a relationship if we don’t have the maturity or it’s not right for us. Saturn is nothing but clarifying.

An Aquarius New Moon falls on 2/9 at 21’43’ Aquarius. It is strongly flavored by the Venus-Saturn square, as well as Mercury in Pisces square Jupiter in Gemini. Aquarius breaks up stagnation, so expect fireworks and oddball whims to appear. Mercury square Jupiter inclines us to overestimate what we can fit into our schedules and overlook details; positively we receive grand, inspired ideas though we’ll have to analyze them for their usefulness later. Look to the house this new moon falls in for information on where you can break out of old routines.

Virgo Full Moon falls on 2/25 at 7’24’ Virgo. This is a lovely full moon as Venus enters Pisces the same day. Venus in Pisces makes this moon especially romantic. The Sun is also square Jupiter so we’re inclined to splurge. Maybe it's warranted. Don’t underestimate your self at this full moon, and opportunity knocks. Believe in your self!
