Mars retrograde sure does pack a punch. Since March 1, we've been getting fast and furious lessons on how to be slow and deliberate, and this energy will continue to affect us through May 19 when Mars goes direct.
If you feel like you're moving through a vat of molasses in pursuit of your goals, you're not alone. There's not much momentum right now to push forward. In fact, this seems to be part of the important lesson of Mars retrograde: for us to stop, reflect and re-assess where we're going and how we're getting there. That may be trying in the patience department, and be frustrating when we find our road-usually-traveled to be littered with blockages.
But if we can integrate the it's-important-to-be-slow-and-steady memo, it can be a golden time that's worth the investment. So in this final stretch, holding on to the vision that there's much be gained may give you the motivation needed to muster up additional patience and tolerance.
So what's to gain? One thing is that we're forced to get out of autopilot mode. While a cushy and comfy place, gliding habitually isn't often a way to stretch and expand our resources, confidence, and what we are able to achieve.
With Mars retrograde, we are forced to focus, to re-strategize, to see whether there are alternative ways of asserting ourselves. Why's that so good? Because it's likely that these news ways of taking action not only require a higher level of mindfulness but also may lead us to outcomes that are not just "acceptable" but formidable and superior -- because we're having to act from a place of consciousness, while also being really conscious about what it is that we're acting in the name of.
We then actually have to consider: What are we actually going into battle for? What do we actually desire? And why? Share a free sample 2015 Day-By-Day Forecast. Look forward to 2015 with this forecast as your road map. Get a free one-week preview now!
Knowing this, really owning this, is a game changer of the greatest degree. Because in this inventorying, we may see whether things or people who held sway and ignited our passions still do the proverbial trick, or whether others have come in to take their place on the ardour radar. And realizing this … acknowledging the truth of what's truly, and really, and in the moment flaming the fans of our desire can be so very profound, and empowering.
All this may sound great on paper -- and it is, notably in terms of the long-term reorientation that it yields -- and yet on a day-by-day basis, it may seem challenging to stay with this slow, patient, and just-let-it-cook-a-little-bit-longer approach.
That's where flower essences, botanically based energetic elixirs, can be of service. While many people know of the stress-reducing Rescue RemedyTM blend, there are actually hundreds of individual flower essences that address different facets of mind-body health. Here are some of my favorites for this Mars in Libra retrograde-related frustrations:
True to the sound of its name, Impatiens flower essence
is for inspiring patience. This may be a good remedy for retrograde periods to encourage a sense of spaciousness and a realization that slowing down -- and not giving into a reflexive now-or-never urge -- can actually be rewarding. Scarlet Monkeyflower
may be a good choice for those looking for support in the healthfully-expressing-anger department. It can help us accept the anger that we are feeling as a beneficial emotion that can be consciously expressed in the name of our well-being, rather than pushed down only to burst forth at an unpredictable time.
If you finding yourself frustrated by setbacks occurring during this Mars retrograde period, Gentian
may be helpful. It allows for the space of reflection rather than defeat. DISCLAIMER: This information should not be used for diagnosing or treating a health condition or disease and is not intended as a substitute for consulting with your physician or healthcare provider.
