The Japanese authorities have said that 300 tonnes of highly radioactive have already leaked but others think they are not admitting the true scale of the problem. 1,000 tanks have been built to hold the water. But these are believed to be at around 85% of their capacity and every day an extra 400 tonnes of water are being added. Water is leaking out all over the site and there are no accurate figures for radiation levels. Given that Fukushima is in an earthquake zone and on the sea it is a much more dangerous situation than Chernobyl.
Fukushima went into service on 26 March 1971 when there was an Aries Sun opposition Uranus square Mars in Capricorn. At the March 2011 meltdown transiting Pluto was within a degree of being conjunct that very emphasised Mars – so a point of extreme pressure and risk. Tr Uranus this year is square that Mars into early 2014 and both tr Pluto and tr Uranus are battering at the Fukushima Uranus till late 2014. So the instability is truly worrying.
TEPCO, the nuclear plant operator, was founded 1 May 1951 and its’ chart looks no more cheerful than the Fukushima one. Tr Pluto is trine the Taurus Sun and opposition the Solar Arc Sun till late November this year which indicates huge pressures and paralysis; then tr Pluto moves relentlessly across the trine to the Sun/Mars midpoint and then Mars by 2015/16. All of which looks seriously risky. Plus there’s a devastating Solar Arc Pluto conjunct Neptune this year.
The Japan country chart has a Neptune Pluto conjunction with Neptune being square the Aquarius Sun. In March 2011 tr Neptune was square Neptune and is this year square Pluto until late January 2014. Pluto Neptune is devastating and one of the nuclear astrological signatures. 2011 saw Solar Arc Uranus conjunct the Japan Sun for a major shock. And 2014 sees Solar Arc Sun square Mars which is explosive and a collision of sorts. So the problem is not going away any time soon. Given that Fukushima is on the coast and in an earthquake zone it could all too easily become other nations’ problem as well.
