There's no better satisfaction than reaching the top after a long climb. Don't be surprised if the full Moon on June 23 inspires you to don your hiking boots.

Full Moons are times of heightened emotions and drives. June's full Moon packs an even more powerful punch than usual. Called a "Super Moon", the Moon appears a little larger than usual, since the full Moon occurs while the Moon is near perigee -- when it is closest to the earth. Just like the ocean's tides, emotional highs and lows may be even more pronounced than an ordinary full Moon.

June's full Moon falls in earthy Capricorn. Here the Moon is less comfortable than in other signs. Moon in Capricorn seeks comfort in Saturn-ruled things: discipline, boundaries and hard work. While this may not be an ideal weekend for socializing, Moon in Capricorn can help you channel your emotions into pushing through blocks and building something concrete. The art of redirecting uncomfortable emotions into a positive expression is what psychologists call sublimation.

If there's a tough or unpleasant project you’ve been avoiding, now is the time to bare down and push through it. You may even discover that once you get started, your fear and resistance evaporate.

Consider it mountain climbing -- choose your least-favorite, most-often-procrastinated task, and challenge yourself to get it done. Don't give up until you reach your goal. Stay up late in the moonlight, if you need. Know you are creating a stable foundation will provide you security in the future. In the end, reaching the top is your gift to yourself.
