Although the royal parents-to-be say don’t know their child’s gender yet, Kate did make her mistake -- and it was Mercury Retrograde, when verbal slip-ups are prevalent (like Jessica Simpson on Jimmy Kimmel). To cover their tracks, they say William is rooting for a girl and Kate a boy. So why are they on the opposite sides on the fence?
Feminine signs rule William, a watery Cancer, and Kate, an earthy Capricorn. However, their particular signs make them rulers of parenting. Capricorn is the sign of paternity and authority. So, for their first child, Kate will tend to be a traditionalist and opt for a boy, as that follows the usual lineage rule, even despite the Queen’s ruling that any child of theirs will take third place in line to the throne.
Meanwhile, William’s sign rules the Mother, which gives him a gentler edge in terms of nurturing and his association with his own mother, Diana. William likely can express his feelings more openly with girls and relates to them in a sweeter way.
