Once upon a time under the autumn full Moon, humankind worked fields late into the evenings to gather in the crops. Though you're probably not hauling bushels of veggies, you might still feel the change of seasons. Welcome to the Harvest Moon!
This year the Harvest Moon is exact on Sept. 19 at 4:12 am PDT. This full Moon in Pisces illuminates the landscape of our "mind fields", heightening our dreams and intuitions. How will it affect your Sun sign?

Get out your broomstick a little early this year, Aries. But instead of soaring through Halloween skies, you might find yourself sweeping out the clutter from your life. Not just physical clutter (that's good too, though!) Especially the emotional clutter that’s kept you trapped in old habits. Take a look at your life. It's time to choose which activities keep you happy and healthy, and which don't. Let you heart be your guide, and just sweep away those things that no longer make it sing.
All work and no play could make anyone grouchy. When was the last time you had a fun night out with your friends? If you can't remember, it might be time to change that. Whether you choose a wild night on the town, or something low-key where you can share a heart-to-heart doesn't matter -- just reach out and get in touch with someone. It may help you bring your life into perspective.
You may love being in the know, but even you can reach a point of information saturation. It's in your nature to want to be where the action is, but finding your balance to keep from being overwhelmed is important too. Even if you're an amazing multi-tasker, everyone has limits eventually. Don't forget to tune in to what your body and soul are telling you; if they say "whoa, Nelly", you may want to rein in your horses.
Once in a while, a hermit crab grows large enough that it must move out of its old shell and into a new one. If you're feeling cramped by something in your life, you may want to start exploring new possibilities. Travel, take a class, join a book club, try a new restaurant -- anything that gives you a taste of something beyond your usual routines. If it uplifts your spirits or gives you a sense of optimism, that's a clue you're on the right track.
Even though you could have energy to burn, you might not feel like being out with the crowd. Consider investing that extra energy in yourself. Maybe you've been thinking about home-improvement projects that just haven't made it to the top of your list? Or that exercise routine you've been too busy to start? Your time is the most precious gift. It's okay to spend some of it on yourself. You'll have more enthusiasm for others concerns once you feel secure in your own world.
Relationships may be on your mind these days. Everyone needs love and affection to thrive. Though you may enjoy aiding others, when you don’t feel like the service is mutual, you could end of feeling like a doormat. If this sounds like you, it’s a good time to consider the balance within your closest relationships. Calmly, clearly and simply articulate your needs to your partner, and listen attentively to the response. If it meets your needs, great! If not, you've at least identified the work that needs to be done.
The lines between work and home are blurring. More people work at home now -- or just live at work. So it's more important than ever that both your home and your workplace nurture your soul. You may consider introducing something comforting to your workspace -- a plant, your favorite music, a fountain, a seat cushion -- whatever is appropriate. Or create a new habit, like a 10-minute meditation break. Like a body needs air and food and water, a soul needs love and creativity and safety to thrive. You are the best gardener of your own soul.
The Harvest Moon illuminates your realms of romance, fun and games. Though you may have been feeling unusually reserved over the past year, perhaps it's time to dare to do something decadent and delicious. Your creativity is inextricably linked to your openness to play -- and to your sexual appetites. Push your boundaries (or just flirt with them). Maybe even indulge in that copy of 50 Shades of Grey you've been eyeing.
As big as that old full Moon, your big dreams may require you to attend to your foundation in order to achieve them. Cracks in your foundation may only be slow leaks, but over time they can add up to a drain your energy and undermine your drive to succeed. Take time to reflect on where your energy is being sapped. Perhaps it's time to create healthier habits, clear distractions and clutter from your living spaces, or mend fences with family members. If you can seal the leaks, you may regain a little bounce in your step.
Does it feel like your days are filled with a never-ending list of tasks? If yes, here's another question for you. Are your tasks bringing you closer to the life you've always dreamed of? If you're not sure, perhaps it's time to figure that out -- especially during this Harvest Moon. If what you are doing isn't required of you, or bringing you one step closer to your life's goal, consider not doing it or finding someone else to do it for you. And if you've been too busy to even think about your long-term vision, then you've just figured out what you really should be doing next.
"Take pride on a job well done". Sometimes this proverb is easier to say than to do. If excellence is your aim, it's natural for your self-worth to get a boost from your professional recognition. But what happens if you feel like you're working tirelessly and no one acknowledges your effort? Consider creating a mutual support network with a few professional confidantes. You check in with them to see if your work is on track, and cheerlead one another toward your goals. Reaching the finish line is even sweeter when the journey itself was satisfying.
Let your heart sing. Once a year, the full Moon falls in your own sign -- and this Harvest Moon is yours! It's the time of year when your emotional tides run highest -- and lowest. Consider supporting yourself with your favorite things: a day at the spa, a massage, a long walk, attending a sporting event, a vacation or something else that will leave you feeling relaxed and grounded. Think of it as your annual tune up. If you refill your emotional reserves, you'll have more energy to tackle what life washes up to your shores next.
