I’m sensing a theme since today is both ‘Proposal Day’ or ‘Kiss Your Fiance Day.’ Of course, all of this proposing and kissing leads me to share some Wedding Day Shui so we can stay in this lovely, loving vibe! First, the bride-to-be should remember that vintage wedding gowns carry their previous owner’s energy, so unless she knows the state of the union between the betrothed whose dress she’s wearing, it’s better to be safe than sorry. She can always cleanse old Chi by passing a ringing bell over the gown nine times. Other legend says that negative Chi is dispersed and replaced with fortune and luck if the dress is left out overnight and placed next to a bowl of sea salt. The salt is said to banish the blues and absorb all pre-nuptial negativity. But if either partner comes down with cold feet, a bowl of uncooked white rice placed close by is believed to absorb a case of wedding day doubts. Finally, here’s a Feng Shui secret that offers a successful future for the happy couple. They should wrap a clay brick (symbolizing the strength of the earth) in a black cloth (black being a color associated with commitment) and place it in the west of the area where they will say their vows. In Eastern legends west is the direction aligned with happily ever after, so placing a brick there will guarantee the commitment stays concrete! As will having at least one mirror present during the wedding and reception. It is said that the couple will enjoy abundance and romance all the days of their married life if they position the mirror so that it reflects them as they repeat their vows.
