‘Love means never having to say you’re sorry,’ or so said author Erich Segal in his now classic ‘Love Story.’ Maybe being deep in love might mean never having to apologize, but for the rest of us, saying ‘sorry’ can sometimes have a tremendous healing and cathartic effect. The trouble is, sometimes ‘sorry’ just doesn’t cut it. Then you need to let the cosmos do the apologizing for you. But first you’ll need to put that plan into place. Get a plain white sheet of paper and in green ink write the name of the person who either needs to say ‘sorry’ to you or the other way around. Fold the paper in quarters and insert it into any lidded receptacle. Place the paper in the container and cover it with honey, then tightly replace the lid. For nine straight nights light a small white candle either atop or immediately beside the jar, or whatever container you use. As the candle burns, ‘see’ in your mind’s eye the object of the apology being open and forgiving. On the ninth and last night allow the candle to burn all the way down before disposing of everything outside of the house. If you want to follow strict Shui, you can either throw the whole thing into any body of moving water or bury it. But it’s equally acceptable to simply dispose of it in any outside garbage container. Today, on ‘Sorry Charlie Day,’ take steps to tell someone else you’re sorry too, and see how quickly they accept the effort!
