Today’s ‘National Candied Orange Peel Day’ gives me the opportunity to share how Feng Shui uses orange peels to restore harmony and Chi to body, mind and spirit. Regarding the body, Feng Shui maintains that if you feel like your energy and mood are fading, taking an energy restoring bath can give your vital essence a boost and replenish your personal Chi. Simply take nine oranges and cut a fifty-cent piece sized circle from each rind. Float them in a warm bath to which you add two cups of Epsom salts. Soak for at least twenty minutes to get the full effect of this soothing soak. To make the most of your mind and motivation, Feng Shui says you can boost your energy and bring focus to any intention by carrying small orange peel circles into a plastic bag and carrying it with you. Whenever you feel like you need a boost, just open the bag and take three big breaths of the scintillating scent. Lastly, to bolster your spirits and banish any wandering ones from your living space, take the peels from six oranges and let them soak overnight in spring or distilled water. Then strain the peels and starting at the front door, walk the main floor of your space, flicking the orange water as you go. This water will not harm your environment in any way. Rather, this is a fabulous Feng Shui cleanse that leaves your living space clear of any malevolent energies. Candied or not, the orange can drench all aspects of your life in nourishing and uplifting vibes!
