Cosmic Calendar

Hold Everything! As indicated at the end of yesterday’s calendar entry, Jupiter in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces (12:57AM PDT) just four minutes before Saturn at 23 degrees of Libra ends its retrograde cycle (1:01AM PDT) and gradually begins to turn direct. [Saturn will stay in forward motion until February 18, 2013 when it will again go into reverse at 12 degrees of Scorpio.]

To have these two events — Jupiter 90-degrees to Neptune, and Saturn virtually motionless — almost simultaneously is very unusual. Add on the Moon being parallel to Uranus (12:25AM PDT) as well as Mars (3:01AM PDT) and it is clear that surprises, shock waves and highly-unpredictable events are in the hopper.

Confusion and chaos are likely emanations coming from the Jupiter-Neptune face-off. Saturn motionless places an emphasis on logic, structure, form, discipline, responsibility and hard work (when positive), and self-doubt, chronic disabilities, fear, pessimism and possibly depression (when negative).

However, despite all the extraordinary conditions already mentioned, you need to add on the fact that Pallas in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn (5:58AM PDT) while Pallas also unites with Uranus (1:52PM)! Hopefully — and this may be more like grasping at straws — the presence of Pallas in the midst of all this stellar commotion will lead to some sort of problem-solving just when it seems that millions of souls will want to crawl under the blankets to sleep, perchance to dream of better days.
