At 5:10 a.m.: The moon is opposite Mercury
In the morning, the Libra moon opposes Mercury in Aries, foreshadowing conflict in communication. Although our inclination now is to keep the peace, another’s words shatter the illusion of harmony. Perhaps they’ll challenge our ideas, or perhaps they just want to argue for the sake of arguing. Either way, we’ll feel ill-equipped to assert ourselves while trying to hold the scales in balance. At this time, it’s essential to understand that someone may attempt to push our buttons, not to get a rise out of us, but to determine what we actually think. The thought of exposing ourselves and thereby setting ourselves up for scrutiny poses an existential threat. This aspect forces us to divulge our biases – ones we might not have even known we had until this confrontation revealed them.
At 12:54 p.m.: The moon is opposite Chiron
After noon, the moon opposes Chiron in Aries, adding tension to an already fraught day. Whether we have elected to stay silent or blurted out hidden feelings, Chiron’s influence causes us to recoil in embarrassment or guilt. What are we really lamenting here? We may assume that cultivating peace is our utility, and by failing to keep up a curated image of who we are, we’ve “failed.” Living in such punishing conditions can place a stranglehold on our hearts. Harmony is aspirational, but it also perpetuates stasis. Chances are that others aren’t shaming us; we are shaming ourselves. The sooner we realize this, the sooner we can flip our script. After all, we are not the only ones who can benefit from our authenticity, everyone else in our community will equally profit from the precedent we set.
