Daily Feng Shui

Today celebrates ‘Festivus,’ a make-believe holiday conceived by ‘Seinfeld’ writer Daniel O’Keefe. Festivus was the holiday for those who choose not to celebrate the more organized seasonal events. Non-denominational, the Festivus slogan is ‘A Festivus for the rest of us.’ An unadorned aluminum pole replaces the tree, meatloaf is the traditional holiday meal and then comes the yearly ‘Airing of Grievances.’ Maybe that last part is why I hang my garlands at a ‘smiling angle,’ with the ends pointing up to create a small swag. Feng Shui says that decorations that have ends hanging down can create a subtle sense of sadness. Be careful to create a happy state and hang your decorations so they ‘lift’ the mood and subconsciously put a smile on your face! Happy Festivus!
