It's hard to believe we're already in December and heading toward holiday time! This can be a deeply rewarding season when we connect in a heartfelt way with family and friends -- and it can also be stressful. What a great opportunity to practice living intuitively and in alignment with our truest self.
For those of us who are sensitive energetically, making choices when being asked or pressured by someone can be challenging. We feel their desire energy in our aura as well as their potential disappointment if we say no. If this rings true for you, having a policy of generally saying 'I need to think about it' to all requests gives you time and space to be alone with yourself and listen your true feelings.
When you consider the request -- and there are generally lots of requests in the holiday season from parties to family obligations and requests for end of season donations -- take the time to feel your body signals. Does your heart feel open, your belly soft? Are you saying yes because it's really what you want to do or are you complying because you don't want to hurt people's feelings? If you decide to choose something that is more for another's benefit than your own, is there a way you can still take care of yourself? Taking time to explore options in an emotionally sensitive and grounded way can really give us a sense of inner power so that we don't feel a victim to the holiday season and other people's agendas.
Extra time for meditation and exercise will help get us through this period with more clarity, allowing us to hear our intuitive thoughts and feelings with more precision and clarity. Drinking extra pure water will also help nervous systems jangled by the busy and crowded stores and parties.
We've all been transforming and evolving in the past few years. It might be time to check into the current version of true self to see what holiday traditions are ours to keep and where we can create spiritual space in our lives in the next few weeks. Every day is an opportunity to be aligned and true to self.
Yours in Spirit!
