Pluto is one of the most powerful, masterful planets of all -- he rules slow and permanent change, taking a number of years to move through each constellation. As he deliberately makes his imprint on each house of your chart, you will never be the same again – but you’ll usually be better for it – much better.
Pluto has been in the serious, worldly sign of Capricorn since 2008 – transforming the very foundation upon which we live. Note that the housing crisis began almost simultaneously with Pluto’s entrance into Capricorn.
Big, bold, over-the-top Jupiter has been in the warm and nurturing sign of Cancer since last summer. Home and family issues have loomed large in our lives ever since – the way we take care (or fail to take care) of our loved ones has been a major theme during the last six months. Some of us have reunited and forgiven family members that we once thought we couldn’t relate to.
But the crux of the issue is that Jupiter is now standing in opposition to Pluto -- pitting our need to nurture those closest to us against our need to be successful out in the world. You may feel pressure to push forward in your career at the expense of your most important relationships.
The key is to find balance between professional drive and close connections. It’s all about managing your time well. Figure out how to turn off your work stress when you get home -- keep work at work as much as you possibly can.
Jupiter remains in Cancer until the summer of 2014, so you have another six months to focus on quality time with the family, or even close friends that feel like family. Don’t put your career aside, but remember that we all need to be nurtured. And the more you give, the more you’ll get.
