Neptune is now in Pisces. Neptune is at home in Pisces- a sign as deep and vast with more pretty coloured fishes, shades of blue and distraction than the Pacific Ocean.
This is hugely exciting for me as with all of my Pisces I am super Neptunian. This transit will enhance this- both good and bad- and is a once in a lifetime transit for us Pisceans.
For those you are heavily weighted with personal planets or chart points (ie Ascendant, Midheaven) in Virgo, Gemini, and Sagittarius, you might not be quite so excited. Sure Neptune can be difficult, but having a better understanding of the message will help.
Neptune essentially dissolves the structures that Saturn has painstakingly and painfully built up. Life becomes confusing and that which is really unreal becomes true. Fantasy becomes reality and ego melts away. This is tough and, especially for people with a strong sense of Saturn (and the responsibilities, commitments and boundaries that go with that) immensely difficult to get your head around. But, it can also be exhilarating.
As Neptune touches whatever personal planet she is throwing her rose coloured gossamer net across, whatever is ruled by that planet will become confused or idealised- more Piscean in nature. When Neptune is transiting this area, commitments are not a great idea- and nowhere is this more important than when the Midheaven or career zone of the chart is involved.
The influence of Neptune can make smart people do really dumb things. It can prompt successful people to make decisions under justifications that are flawed, delusional or based on misguided principles. It creates glamour where there is none, escape where there shouldn’t be one, and mysticism to replace reality.
A Neptune transit can, however, also bring with it amazing creativity, inspiration, intuition and compassion- all of which absolutely have their advantages in the workplace.
Before you all start getting excited about what this could possibly mean to you, remember this- Neptune moves slowly…very slowly. This means, that if you are having a Neptune transit to the Midheaven, with the retrograde motion, you may have the influence of Neptune hanging around the top of your chart for a couple of years. Also, because of the retrograde motion, you will have a number of direct hits.
Over the next few posts we will look a little more specifically at transits to the Midheaven by Neptune, but the biggie for Neptune through the 10th house, in general, the message is about making sure that whatever you do (or are doing) that is has meaning for you. And by meaning, that doesn’t mean that it serves a purpose or that it is about the money or you ego or anything like that.
In fact, if you answer the question “who are you?” with your profession or your title or what it is that you do, then maybe you need to detach a little from that and look to the higher purpose- whatever that happens to be.
Just like Liz in Eat Pray Love, your “word”, the word that describes who you are, should say more about you than how much you earn or the way in which you do it.
