Making the Best of Your Partner's New Year's Eve Party

You had the perfect New Year celebration all mapped out, but then you lost the toss with your partner who has to attend his office party. How are you going to attend with good grace and still enjoy yourself?

Aries never gives up easily, and when faced with the idea of a dull New Year’s Eve they will certainly fight to the end. That said, they usually don’t carry grudges long. They will, however, be planning to bring some of their adventuring spirit to the occasion no matter what anyone else’s agenda is.

Taurus probably won’t fuss too much as long as there’s the promise of good food. That said, if pushed to attend a party they don’t want to go to, they are the masters of passive resistance, so the situation could become awkward. Persuade them that giving way this once will give them a free pass later.

Gemini might grumble but ultimately they’re pretty flexible as long as the party is full of interesting characters. The great communicator of the zodiac, they will brighten up any event with their witty jokes and well-told stories.

Cancer is remarkably good at digging in their heels. If forced to go against their will to a party, they’ll most likely get moody and retreat into their shell. Best case scenario, they’ll realize that their nurturing qualities are being called upon and will cheer up … slightly.

For Leo, the party must be grand. A quiet celebration will send them into a spiral of gloom. But if they can come tap into their heart -- which is, after all, the body area represented by their sign – they’ll soon give in to their lover’s wishes with a spirit of New Year cheer.

Virgo will generally give in to what their partner wants -- as long as it doesn’t involve performing at the party. They’ll find a task to keep them occupied at the event, but they need to learn that a little rowdy play can be fun as well.

Libra can be picky about their parties, since they like elegance. The prospect of anything too rough or strenuous makes them wilt. However, they are extremely diplomatic and geared towards pleasing their partners. Most likely, they’ll grit their teeth, smile sweetly and try to make the best of what’s on hand.

They’ll maintain an enigmatic smile throughout the party, but their partner may worry about what the payback will be! Scorpio needs to lighten up and go with the flow. Things are often better than they think.
