"Nobody can hurt me without my permission."
-- Mahatma Gandhi
The planet of moving and grooving is not a happy camper in the moody sign of Cancer. Our instincts to self-protect and retreat to our shells is pronounced now. Mars in Cancer abhors confrontation the same way a crab will quickly duck down into the sand when a potential attack is imminent. Crabs prefer to sidle up to their pray and we're all bound to feel influenced by this sideways style to aggression.
We may not come at things as directly as we would like or would normally tend to do. In fact, due to increased sensitivity of the current water world in the sky, our inclinations will be to take cover at home and leave conflict for another day. This an excellent time to put your energy into nursing old wounds. This doesn’t mean dwelling in past hurts, but you can put your life force into healing the past rather than allowing regret, guilt or grudges to churn over and over in your memories. Release them and let them go so you have energy to nourish yourself in the present.
This is also an excellent time to take care of relationship issues that need a little extra energy. Our tendency is to go backwards and sideways now, so think of creative ways to apply this movement in your life. Moving forward is given such a crazy bias in our culture. What's wrong with a little retrospection and lateral movement now and then to round things out? Most importantly during this time: don't take everything personally! Everyone else will be, so at least one person needs to hold some objective ground.
