“Power comes not from the barrel of a gun, but from one's awareness of his or her own cultural strength and the unlimited capacity to empathize with ...”
-- Barack Obama
Now that Mars -- the planet of war -- has moved into the squishy and sensitive waters of Pisces through March 11, our energy and actions become a bit mushy and amorphous, to say the least. There is something obscure, dreamy and poetic when Mars operates in the sign of the imagination. This is a nice reprieve after the intense and cold-blooded killer energy of Mars in Aquarius. Compassion in action is back. We’re being led back to our hearts and our sensitivity.
Our fighting spirit may be a bit waterlogged at the moment, but we’ll have no problem turning within and seeing our lives more cinematically. In fact, the more that we can channel our energy in accordance with our sensitivity and creativity, the less victimized we’ll feel. Mars in Pisces loves to throw a good pity party. It’s all too easy to get lost in a world of the “poor me’s” during this transit, so make sure you have better energetic outlets for your vulnerable side.
Music and dance are especially cathartic during this time, as is being near a large body of water (preferably the ocean) to calm your nerves and swim off any hurt feelings. We’re more likely to consider the other person’s pain than normal, so this is an excellent time to put your empathic listening skills to good use. Any damage incurred during the Mars in Aquarius phase can be healed and cleansed now.
The downside to this transit is the wishy-washy, indirect if not deceiving quality of Pisces. People are more apt to play emotional games and attempt to seep under your skin rather than tell you directly what they want. Try not to get into negative expressions of Pisces sensitive energy. You may think you’re acting off some psychic ability when in fact it’s just your fears magnified times 10.
Look out for the movies you make up in your head about yourself or other people now. Remember, the imagination is especially vivid at this time, so better to paint, dance or write poetry than to cause unnecessary waves.
