Mercury Retrograde and the Houses of Relationships

 When I think of Mercury in retrograde right off the bat I often visualize the array of problems people may face. I immediately think of computers crashing, blackberry phones crapping out, people missing flights, payments not coming in, meetings being cancelled. Things slow down considerably and all of the situations mentioned above often manifest in the lives of the people around me. The current retrograde is no different. My boyfriend's mother is having a huge problem getting monies wired to her account. The reason for the hold up? One digit for the account number was missing on the paperwork. My boyfriend also is having problems with his bank account. He's been waiting and waiting for a password to be delivered to access his account. This has been a nightmare for him to deal with. However his friend, Amber, really takes the cake. She flew all the way to Europe to go to her mother's wedding in Scotland. Wanting to see her friends in France, she decided to make an excursion the few days before. She missed the shuttle and got to her gate 10 minutes before the plane was about to depart. Ryan Air would not let her on. The next flight would be well after her mother's wedding, so, consequently she missed the ceremony. However, not all Mercury in retrograde problems are limited to miscommunications and technical difficulties. For Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio, things are slowing down in the relationship departments. The Crab: Mercury in critical Virgo now transits back in your 3rd house of relationships with relatives and neighbors. If you have a Cancer sun or ascendant expect to rethink your relationships in this area. Some may have difficulties with parents, siblings, or those living next door. Before you stop speaking to your cousin or sister for months on end, let Mercury do it's thing. It's never a good idea to make a bold decision such as cutting someone off until the communication planet's back on track. (which is Sept 12th, by the way!)

The Fish: Are you finding yourself criticizing your partner recently? Or has an old problem popped back up? Maybe you have a new outlook about him or her? If you have a Pisces sun or ascendant you may be rethinking your position in a business or personal relationship. Mercury in retrograde is slowing you down for a reason. Stop and think about what it is that's really happening in your relationship now. This is a time to review the situation. Mercury's forcing you to reevaluate it.

The Scorpion: It's possible an old friend could pop up in your life again. A chance to reconnect with someone from your past is highly possible now. A phone call out of the blue, an email, or a facebook request could be a nice surprise or a bad one considering the circumstances. Evaluate the situation using your keen investigative skills. If you're single, it may not be a bad idea to reconnect, after all.
