Pick up any mommy magazine these days and you will find endless things to lust after. My mom recently commented that when I was little children and baby items were not the big business they are today - only a fraction of the fun baby gear that their is today existed in the 70's. Maybe it is because women were having fewer children or the feminist movement took the focus off of moms in favor of the working women. For better or worse things have shifted dramatically - with mega stores dedicated to baby gear as well as cute little boutiques in every shopping district that caters to mom and baby - it can be exceedingly fun at times and equally stressful at others.
It has become more and more difficult over the years to "keep up with the Jones's" from a material perspective. Which stroller do you go after, the safe, quality, premium of the Orbit Baby or the gloss and "Sex in the City" reputation of the Bugaboo? Tough decisions loom daily for moms that want to seem like they have it all. And then the pressure that little ones feel to keep up with peers is overwhelming. To embrace the current culture of fun items or to reject it all together is a choice only you can make; but in the meantime, I am planning a fun little tidbit for you on mommy style by sign.
Stay tuned!
