What does it mean that Neptune is now in forward motion?

On June 1st, at almost 29 degrees of Aquarius, Neptune began its annual retrograde summer motion. Neptune represents the energy of consciousness expanding into Oneness. It is the part of us that seeks transcendent creativity, conscious love, blissful, ecstatic experiences. Sometimes the blissful experiences are addictive and we find ourselves in a downward cycle of addiction, deception or illusions. But if we have a good relationship with our Neptune we know when to surrender and trust and we find healthy, spiritual and creative outlets.

On Sunday, at approximately 26 degrees the forward movement resumed. This signals perhaps a sense of the fog lifting, the confusion softening.

For many years, we have been experiencing an unusual blend. Neptune, the Pisces planet, in Aquarius. Uranus, the Aquarian planet, in Pisces. Mutual reception it's called, and it's kind of a closed loop of I'm like you, you're like me, oh how happy we will be! While Neptune is seeking Oneness and bliss in kind of an edgy, radical way, Uranus is doing its revolutionary, unexpected shockers in kind of a mystical, confusing way. We're all being spiritualized, the psychic vibes are way, way up, and it's incredibly creative and liberating if we tune into it. If we resist it, it feels scary and like everything we thought was true maybe isn't.

Neptune will peek into its own sign, Pisces, in early 2011 and will ultimately spend many, many years there. This is the medicine we're waiting for, a dose of compassionate love that will allow us to live together in a new way.

So what does it mean that Neptune is in forward motion? We're closer to experiencing Neptune in Pisces. (mark your calendar for April 4th for the first taste of transcendent soup). And between now and April we might have a slightly easier time navigating Neptunian energies as the cloud of confusion is at least moving forward so we can feel like we're aligning somehow with its messages. Retrogrades are important too, review is helpful, but in my experience it's harder to make clear decisions during the retrograde phase. Intuition and gut feel are the only ways to fly.

I have a lot of Pisces and Neptune in my chart (no surprise!) so here's my Neptune advice. It's okay not to know. It's fine to be confused. Surrender. Trust. Listen to your inner psychic voice. Know that nothing really matters all that much. Kind of like the old expression that God laughs while we make plans. Laugh with God and you'll enjoy Neptune just fine.
