Don’t wait until December 31 to make your New Year’s resolutions for 2012. One of the most serious new Moon cycles of the year is upon us on December 24. This is the most auspicious day to set intentions that require discipline, patience and responsibility.
Capricorn is the sign that rules time, authority and integrity. It is a sign especially connected to our status in this world, our “piece of the rock” so to speak. This new Moon in Capricorn asks us to get clear about what we need to firmly say no to in our lives so that we may give proper respect to our long-term professional priorities. Capricorn reminds us that there is only so much time in our life, and so we must eliminate all of those attachments and addictions that waste our most valuable resource. Look at where your time goes; if more than 20 percent is spent on time-sucking traps, this new Moon is an excellent time to make some changes.
This is a “reality check” new Moon, where we feel pulled to take a good, hard look at what we really need in our lives -- and to 86 the rest. Capricorn rules the law of “no”; we can no longer passively agree to things just to keep the peace when in the long run there’s no way we can possibly keep our word and make everyone happy without sacrificing our own goals.
Capricorn is also the sign of limits, so use this new Moon to get clear on where your tipping point really is. This is how you build backbone and integrity. If discipline is what you desperately need (and everyone could use a little more discipline in this chaotic world of ours), this is your new Moon, babe. Use it or lose it.
