On Sunday, the powerful new Moon solar eclipse in Gemini will extend the energy triggered just five days earlier by the Venus retrograde in Gemini. The lessons of the Twins are clearly dominating the star scene at the moment, so we’re all being called to look at our choices -- especially in work and relationships. Since Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, is in the Venus-ruled sign of Taurus, this new Moon also continues the theme of looking at our value systems.

Gemini deals with duality, so in order to realign our true value system we will be asked to eclipse some half-truths and half-baked choices from our lives. Look to where both Taurus and Gemini fall in your birth chart to see the area of your life that is undergoing the most change. If ever there was a time to write all of your thoughts down or better yet, meditate, now would be that time. There is a good chance that our minds are all over the map under this heavy Gemini influence and will need a good ear, paper or other trustworthy place to vent.

We can drive ourselves absolutely bonkers by over-thinking all the details. This is a pitfall of Gemini energy and why the sign is often associated with the Ten of Swords in tarot. There is a need for a major mental reset with this new Moon. Discrimination, observation and being more of a witness to our thought patterns is recommended now.

The duality of Gemini can spur on our inner gossip, truth-twister or other trickster energies that play with the power of words for better or worse. Since Mercury (ruler of Gemini) will be in a rough aspect to Neptune during this new Moon, our thinking is not the clearest. It is excellent for psychic activity, devotional practices and imagination, but not ideal for logical decision-making.

As with all eclipse patterns, we need to observe all of the ramifications that unfold over the next six months leading up to the full Moon in Gemini (in this case, a lunar eclipse on November 28). Take note: the biggest lesson of this lunation? Choose wisely!
