The new Moon in Virgo this Sunday, August 28, is a reminder to get back to basics. Virgo is the sign of simplicity and service. Where do we need to cut out the superfluous in our lives in order to appreciate the perfection of simplicity? Clutter and media overkill run rampant in our insanely busy times, especially following the fall-out of August’s Mercury Retrograde (which actually began in Virgo in early August). Often there is a lot of leftover communication chaos that needs the problem-solving and streamlining skills of Virgo.
Use this new Moon to get clear. Virgo can analyze and distill even the most complex situations into perfect clarity -- without a thought, word or action wasted in the process. You can get to your bottom line now by cutting out all of the mental chatter, excuses and delay tactics. This Virgo new Moon will insist that you cut to the chase in all matters of life.
This is the time of year when we start to crave less technological clutter and more quiet time in nature before the back-to-work (or school) hustle kicks into full gear. Virgo rules work, health and process, so this new Moon asks us to plant our seeds of intention in each of these areas. How could we streamline our work methods, de-clutter our workspaces and ultimately work more efficiently and thus less? Where does our health need some attention? Virgo rules the intestine, so this is the perfect time of year for a juice detox or intestinal cleanse.
And finally in terms of honoring the process, Virgo reminds us of the importance of practice. The more we do something, the higher our level of mastery. But that doesn’t mean we should get all OCD about our work. The trick is to avoid perfectionism in our attempts to constantly refine our methods and the only way to do that is to get completely immersed in the process. Fall in love with the process itself and let go of any fears and expectations around outcome, results and rewards.
