On July 26, the Moon crossed over exalted Jupiter and conjoins Sun as it fully emptied its sunlight in the 15th and final tithi (Moon phase). The New Moon is in its own sign of Cancer at 17:41 CDT while in Pushya nakshatra. Sun, Moon and exalted Jupiter are all in Pushya, the nourishing star at this time. This is a profoundly symbolic cosmic expression of what we are moving towards in the coming waxing cycle.
The coming weeks offer a theme of finding increased nourishment, support and holding. Knowing what this is, what it feels like, and how we cultivate its presence within ourselves and our lives is worthy of our attention and intention. Perhaps nourishment arrives with knowledge and wisdom, comforts and support, kindness and gratitude, increased synchronization of Nature and her rhythms.
Perhaps it comes with the gentleness of the breath and taking in life more easefully. Take note of what you are opening to and the many ways and means that offer you nourishment and fulfillment in the coming cycle. What are you filling your cup with? What are you inviting into your being, into your life? Let the awareness of vitality and nourishment be your guide. Trust your emotional body to be your compass, your guide.
Inviting in newness and change with a creative ritual.
Set an intention for your new Moon ritual. Before we can fill our cup again during the waxing Moon cycle, we must purge and let go, in order to make room for the newness and what is to come. What are you emptying yourself of? What are you releasing and letting go of? Now is the time to consciously be aware of the release; purging and letting go with intention.
Here is a creative ritual to get you inspired and to offer greater awareness about your internal process. Using three levels of awareness (mental body, emotional body and physical body), and mandala maps, explore your inner landscape with depth, creativity and introspection.
Step #1: Do a three level check in by being very present to what sensations arrive on the mental body, emotional body, physical body.
Step #2: Draw three circles on a piece of paper and label each one as mental, emotional and physical. Then create your mini mandalas for each of these three bodies. What is the “felt sense” that arrives for each of these? Don’t over think this, just create. Remember, it’s process, not product right now.

Step #3: Give a name or title to each mandala. Capture the essence in words.
Extra credit: Answer these baseline statements once you’ve completed your mini mandala process.
I will be continuing to explore the three level check in, and how to use it within the creative process, more in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
I invite you to share any part of your process below. Happy new Moon.
