New Zealand Quake - Depardieu and Binoche

New Zealand Quake - Depardieu and Binoche
New Zealand has suffered its worst earthquake for a while though no lives lost and a plane has crashed killing nine. The New Zealand chart has an assertive 4th house Sun Mars in Capricorn in a controlling though also rebellious square to Pluto Uranus, which I always think is odd. A bit like the Denmark chart, not quite what you’d expect of nations which appear calm, collected and rather conservative on the outside. That New Zealand Sun Mars square Pluto is being rattled at the moment by transiting Uranus semi-sextile Pluto exactly now and aiming to sextile Mars within a few days and then the Sun by the year end. Even easy aspects tend to act like hard when applied to a country chart. So it will be sending ripples through that very compacted, power packed and angry Sun Mars Pluto. The recent few Solar Eclipses have had significance for New Zealand. The February 2008 Eclipse on whose path New Zealand lies had Uranus on the Midheaven and Mars on the Ascendant set for New Zealand with a Mars opposition Pluto – so difficult and risky. The most recent July 2010 Solar Eclipse had the Cancer New Moon on the Ascendant set for New Zealand which marks it out as a key place. Tr Uranus had moved back to exactly – and I mean exactly to the minute! – close the opposition to Saturn on this chart. The July 09 Solar Eclipse had Pluto conjunct Ascendant and Uranus conjunct IC/Nadir for New Zealand with a Saturn square Mars so disruptive and risky. Tr Uranus is now trine that July 09 New Moon (to within 9 minutes = one sixth of a degree). The very powerful August 2008 Eclipse had Pluto conjunct Midheaven for New Zealand with an accident-prone Mars Saturn conjunction and tr Uranus is within days (half a degree) of being square that Pluto which is disruptive. So there is a good deal of activity on the Eclipse charts and New Zealand’s own natal chart. It is an edgy time for New Zealand and tr Uranus is aiming to square the Venus come October/November which is emotionally unsettling as well. Plus an upheaval from tr Pluto trine Uranus from late November into December 2010. An unseemly spat is entrancing the French public between their two most respected actors. Gerard Depardieu for no apparently good reason publicly attacked Oscar winning Juliette Binoche accusing her of having done nothing in her career and not deserving her success. The winsome Binoche has carefully suggested he may be suffering from personal problems. Depardieu (27 Dec 1948 8 am Chateauroux, Fr) has had an illustrious, film-packed career from unlikely beginnings as a street child. He’s a lucky but tough minded Sun Jupiter Mercury in Capricorn trine Saturn in Virgo. With Mars in acquisitive Capricorn sextile an intense Scorpio Moon; a trapped 8th house Pluto and an erratic 7th house Uranus opposition his Sun. He’s also a wine grower and a gourmand, leading to his quintuple heart by pass some years ago. Binoche (9 March 1964 12.25pm Paris, Fr) is from a talented, intellectual and artistic middle class background and clearly has a different style to the rambunctious, roistering Depardieu. She has Mars Sun in Pisces conjunct her Midheaven with lucky Jupiter also in her 10th. Her cool Saturn in Aquarius squares Depardieu’s Scorpio Moon and her Capricorn Moon is conjunct his 2nd house Mars – so she’ll be too cool for his sexually intense Moon and somehow sparks off his concerns about money. She does - in that odd way of seemingly gentle women – have a really tough Mars Sun opposition Pluto and Uranus. So she will attract very strong at times hostile responses which appear to be undeserved and yet belong to her subterranean anger. Their relationship chart has what could be a friendly, affectionate Sun Mercury Mars Venus conjunction. But there’s also a one-up-manship Pluto opposition Jupiter in a chained-together and hating-it square to Saturn. Neither of them look about to disappear off the acting scene for a goodly while indeed Depardieu could be poised to produce his best work with Saturn aiming for his midheaven by 2011, setting his peak in the years thereafter. Though he does have tr Saturn about to square his Sun this month and Jupiter Mercury in Oct/Nov with a dreary slog-on tr Pluto trine his Saturn in 2011/12. And he did have tr Neptune was his Moon when he made the remarks so something isn’t going well for him at a comfort level. Binoche has her Solar Arc Moon about to hit her Midheaven in 2011 so again will be higher profile still and with Saturn now out of her first quadrant she’s likely to go on and on.
