Multi-award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, star of Capote and The Master, has died of a suspected heroin overdose. Born 23 July 1967 (no birth time unfortunately), he was brought up mainly by a single mother and had drug /drink problems from early on. His speciality were roles of angst-ridden types and he seemed not dissimilar in real life.
He was a Leo or Cancer Sun on the point of a Fixed T Square to Mars in Scorpio opposition North Node in Taurus. So the recent Eclipses in Taurus/Scorpio were rattling that Mars in Scorpio and North Node.
He had Saturn in self-reliant Aries in a rather gloomy square to Mercury in Cancer which was in turn sextile Pluto (Uranus) in Virgo. So his Mercury, ruling mental functions, was heavily aaspected by outer planets which does lead to stress. Although his Saturn was balanced by a trine to Jupiter in Leo which should have helped.

His Aquarius Moon was square Neptune which might have edged him towards drugs.
His ‘actors’ 15th Harmonic was exceptionally strong and very earthy as well as bleak. His creative 5th Harmonic was notable and stressed. His pleasure-seeking 9th Harmonic packed a fair punch with Uranus Mars Jupiter Saturn being conjunct opposition Neptune and square Mercury. The 9th Harmonic is about the pleasure principle, can be artistic or humanitarian but also can be super-indulgent.
Apart from the Eclipses he’s had tr Pluto hitting on three of his Mars midpoints recently which would have made him feel trapped. Plus tr Pluto square his Saturn which is depressing.
What a waste of a huge talent.
