"It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it." - Lena Horne
I think Lynn Hayes had it right when she said on her blog Astrological Musings that "bliss is not easy in our physical world. The letting go of individuality so that we can become reborn in the ecstasy of the divine is the lesson of Pisces, and in order to facilitate this transition we must release the individuality of Aquarius. Each sign of the zodiac leads into the next, and in this way we evolve in cycles through the turn of the wheel."
With the build-up in Pisces this month - Sun, Mars, Mercury and Chiron (which will remain for the next 8 years) - we are attempting nothing less than the dismissal of our ego and a oneness with the Divine. While a oneness with the Divine may look like fraternity brothers drinking the elixir of the Gods (or just some cheap beer) and star-gazing (or more likely hot college dorm female gazing) - there is a mood of wanting to get lost a world outside the lines, where bliss is a breath or beer away.
Often we can run into problems with Pisces. Emotionally responsive and seeking a formlessness so as to fuse with the melody within itself or others, Pisces can take us from an ethereal understanding to escapism and back again. Pisces energy doesn't particularly get along with the world of form and must learn to create and hold boundaries. And while joy and celebration can be its resource (in addition to Neptune, its ancient ruler is jolly Jupiter), the attempt at self-annihilation is both its most godly pursuit and self-destructive tendency.
Sure, the Sun, Mercury and Mars will breeze through this sign in about same amount of time as a lunar cycle- 30 days - but Chiron is just getting started here and will prod us to heal that part of ourselves that would rather go undetected than integrate as spiritual awareness. Chiron brings focus and determination to the sign it touches, and will firstly expose our "wound" so as to bring awareness to it so we may begin the healing process. Like Hayes says "because this is Chiron, though, in order to walk through the Piscean mists that keep us from our ultimate bliss, we must continue our healing journey and release any blocked energy from our wounded places that are holding us back so that we can move more easily into the bliss of ultimate Oneness."
Now is a good time to observe your feelings and reactions- no matter how irrational they seem. They are just trying to show you something. You may have to deal with temper tantrums, charlatans, grievous family members and prickly neighbors, but the gold lies in your response. Like Eleanor Roosevelt said "nothing can hurt you without your consent." And like my mom always says "If you squeeze an orange, you're just going to get orange juice." So these people - egregiously wrong as their actions may seem or downright be - are there to expose the juice hiding in your soul.
Our judgements and our willingness judge, often too hastily, will turn out to be hurtful for ourselves. While people may very well be in the wrong, Pisces encourages us to just observe and let it go. When we're in tune with our inner spiritual law, the glue that binds us to these people that bring about our pain and suffering should be short and sweet as we can immediately recognize what is in our best interest and what is it not.
Bless them for bringing these lessons into your life and move on with grace. Karma will take care of the rest. This is a time of sweet release.
