Prince William and patient Kate to marry

Prince William, second in line to the British Throne is to marry his ever patient girl friend of 8 years Kate Middleton. Born only six months apart they have relatively similar charts, both with the tough minded Mars Saturn Pluto in Libra, probably a necessity for a stressed and pressured Royal lifestyle ahead.

Born on 9 January 1982 Kate is a controlled Sun in Capricorn square Saturn Pluto and Mars. Capricorn is a sign that is socially ambitious and she’s clearly good at waiting patiently but determinedly to get what she wants. She has a friendly Venus in Aquarius square her Jupiter in Scorpio so she will be good at public relations, turning on the charm to fit the occasion. Since her Jupiter in Scorpio falls in William’s 10^{th house she’ll be a professional asset for him in his public duties.}

Prince William, born 21 June 1982 at 9.03 pm London, has a New Moon in Cancer in his 7th house along with his Moon’s North Node. So he’s a strange mix of self-sufficient from his New Moon, yet dependent on a partner for security and indeed a family life to fulfil his Cancerian needs. Yet his 7th house North Node also suggests being independent comes more easily to him than inter-dependence and co-operation. So he’ll be constantly dancing backwards and forwards which is perhaps why it has taken him so long to settle.

He also has his tactile, party-loving 5th house Venus in Taurus on the focal point of a Yod, inconjunct (150 degrees) to a Neptune sextile Pluto so is not entirely comfortable with his feelings or indeed his role in life, since Yods bring strain. Though they also bring fated changes of direction in which love plays a major role.

He has been undergoing massive emotional changes in the past two years with transiting Pluto opposing his Sun, his Sun/Moon midpoint and then opposing his Moon; with transiting Saturn joining in earlier this year to square all those points. Transiting Uranus has also been chipping away at his Sun by square this year and it is not finished since it will square his Sun/Moon midpoint and then his Moon through 2011 into early 2012.

All of those influences separately might have led one to assume he would split up. The Sun/Moon midpoint especially is the one-to-one committed relationship significator. Tr Saturn in hard aspect brings coolness. Tr Pluto brings challenges, sometimes jealousy and power struggles. Tr Uranus brings upsets and upheavals. So it does seem an odd time to decide to settle down. An astrologer might have advised waiting till 2012 when those influences have passed over and he’ll be thinking more clearly about what is really important to him.

Their relationship chart has a very affectionate Sun Venus conjunction which is highly positive and probably a Moon trine Jupiter which will smooth round rough edges which they occur. But argumentative Mars figures strongly also in opposition to the composite Sun Venus Mercury and square the composite Moon. This suggests there will be a struggle for each to live out their individuality. It makes for competitiveness, difficult in a Royal lifestyle where fitting in is a prime requirement.

Kate has been pretty battened down so far which with her Capricorn Sun square Saturn Pluto and Mars is maybe not surprising. But that may not last for ever as she establishes herself and starts to flex her wings. Very early into the marriage tr Pluto and tr Uranus both start hammering away at their composite Mercury Sun, Mars and possibly Moon – so it’s going to be bumpy for several years.
