(This series is written from the perspective of the house placements in your birth chart, specifically with regard to the transit of Pluto through Capricorn. However, much of this applies to your Moon and Sun Sign placements too.)
The Loan Officer's eyes go back and forth between her monitor and the paperwork in front of her, lingering in each place for a few seconds before moving on, pausing on occasion to look at you the same way a biologist examines a stain under the microscope.
"So... you'd like to be able to experience a more lasting, more fulfilling Love than you experienced previously. I trust you understand what the market is like for that these days."
(You clear your throat and begin to respond -- you've anticipated where this is going, and have a little speech prepared in your head. But before you can begin, the Loan Officer continues.)
"I see your record from 2002-2006," she says. "You know, on paper, in many ways you had a very functional situation for yourself, and that seems to have fallen through. More than one possible situation, in fact."
(You knew that would come up too, and you're fully aware of the many ways things are different now. YOU are different now. But you didn't think that would come up so early in the application process, and you're a little off guard. You begin to defend yourself but the Loan Officer continues.)
"Your current potential looks good now, on paper certainly. But you thought that was the case before, didn't you?"
(But THIS time, you think, it's diff --)
"'This time it's different', I believe you were about to say," she continues. "It's always different when it's someone new. In fact, it's always different even when it's the same person. There is always a price to pay, whether it seems like it or not. You still have to make the effort to communicate, even if it's just small talk and having a good time. And have you considered that may not be your strong suit? That you major efforts are better spent on something you have more obvious ability to handle? Like, for example: hiding behind self-comforting platitudes about relationships, rather than actually being in one? Or: having a good time and then moving on to the next one? Or perhaps: pining away for a solution to your own problems to fall from Heaven into your lap without making any real effort?"
(You walked in here high on Hope, knowing exactly what you wanted, and now you're sitting here, crushed, suddenly feeling hung over. And the Loan Officer is staring at you unblinking, without a trace of giving a damn about you either way... just doing her job before her next appointment comes in.)
"I'm sorry, but if you really want this, it's going to take a lot more work on your part. You have the basic capacity, but I'm afraid you've invested far too much of yourself in past into your own complexes."
The Loan Officer pushes the application back across the table at you. "The purchase is inherently worthy, but come back when you've put more work into your application."
(You take the paperwork and stand to leave. You'll get right to work on that, you assure yourself, because after all you really do know what you want.)
(Or do you?)
That's the next fifteen years of your love life, Gemini and Sagittarius.
