With a Responsible Rebel Yell

As we make the transition from Capricorn to Aquarius, it's natural to want to totally rebel from some of the diehard discipline we may have attempted to brutally enforce on the sloppier aspects of our lives while the Sun was still in Capricorn. Implementing structure and consistency is fabulous but over-scheduling our lives can backfire if we work ourselves to the bone without making time for friends, family and most importantly ourselves. It's easy to become compulsively driven by the perfectionist and ambitious strivings associated with Saturn but there is often some kind of backlash if we impose too much rigidity. When the Aquarian planets take a dominant role in the cosmos as they are now, we start to feel a rebellious stirring which can easily turn to self-sabotage if we're not mindful. Especially during the current Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius and shadow of the upcoming new moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on the 26th, our instincts to rebel against anything that feels too rigid or authoritative quickly and often unexpectedly become amplified.
As long as we've earned the right or authority to break the rules by first learning them really well, we won't run the risk of becoming dubbed flakes. Or more simply, if we've worked really hard and then take a day off to totally slack, it's not the same as someone who just decides willy-nilly to slack off without having put in any time in the first place. Or as Picasso said you must first learn to paint before you can "unpaint." Obama, with his Aquarius rising, is a great example of a dignified rebel who has more than earned the respect to now take liberties to change the status quo. But what if say Flavor Flav decided to run for President to stir things up in Washington? Or better yet another supposed "maverick" that had a mighty long way to go to earn the credibility to responsibly break the rules.
So in making a smooth transition from Capricorn to Aquarius as Mercury oscillates between the two signs between now and March, don't lose sight of your backbone while experimenting with some of your rebellious visions. Shaking up the status quo is where it's at now, as long as you have a leg to stand on. Make sure you can handle your rebellion responsibly and still pay the bills.
