Mercury started its current retrograde in dreamy, romantic Pisces. If you’ve been feeling major brain fog since February 6, you’re in good company. The last week or so has been about fantasy and illusion, and perhaps the return of past lovers. Now that Mercury is backtracking into the sign of Aquarius (where it was from January 12 to February 1) it’s time to revisit the themes of those early weeks of the year.
Early in January many of us were still deeply focused on our New Year’s resolutions and goals for 2014. If you dropped that ambitious agenda some time last month, you’re just a normal human being. But luckily, Mercury’s trip back into Aquarius provides the opportunity to revisit and even tweak those goals. Perhaps your original resolutions demanded too much – now you can ramp it down and figure out a more workable series of goals for the next six months or so.
Friendships are also an important Aquarian theme. When Mercury retrogrades in the sign of the Water Bearer, you tend to run into friends and colleagues from your past. You may find that you’re nostalgic for a dear friend, one who was like family to you, whom you’ve lost touch with. This is an excellent time to reach out and reconnect.
You may not even have to, because the next time you check your email, that very friend may have already sent you a message. Mercury Retrograde is renowned for synchronicity and psychic connections. You might unearth a deleted text or get an out-of-the-blue instant message from someone you knew long ago. And if you keep it old-school, you might open a box and find an old letter.
It’s one of the best times of the year for a reunion, so plan a group dinner with your oldest friends. They can’t wait to see you!
