Rogue Traders - Mars in Scorpio and Capricorn

Kweku Adoboli, the London based UBS trader alleged to have lost UBS $2bn (£1.3bn) in unauthorised trading, has been charged with fraud.

According to net sources he was born 15 September 1980, making him a Sun Jupiter Saturn in Virgo, sextile Uranus (Moon) in Scorpio, square Neptune with Mars in Scorpio.

There are some similarities with Nick Leeson, the trader who brought Barings Bank to its knees and Jerome Kerviel, the French rogue trader who cost Societe Generale nearly 5 billion euros.

Adoboli and Piscean Leeson both have relentlessly determined Mars in Scorpio and Saturn in the same sign as their Suns. Kerviel has Mars in materialistic Capricorn as well as his Sun. All three have Jupiter Saturn in aspect – Adoboli conjunct; Leeson trine and Kerviel square. Mars would give ferocious drive. Saturn especially linked to Jupiter gives a fear of failure which in their cases clearly pushed them to fly too high.

UBS (29 June 1998) who had to be baled out in the 2008 scrunch are not facing happy times ahead. They have a car-crash Solar Arc Mars conjunct Sun this year and the very insecure Solar Arc Uranus trine Mars very soon. Plus a frustratingly and devastatingly trapped tr Pluto opposition Mars in 2011/12 and the high tension tr Uranus square Mars in 2012.
