"We all suffer from dreams."
-- Bernard Cornwell
When the Sun and Neptune merge in the mystical waters of Pisces on February 23, life gets dreamy and cinematic -- to say the least. Our illusions and delusions take precedence, and perceptions may become quite foggy but hopefully magical all the same.
Reality bites and we could all use a little love from the land of Neptune's glamorous tint. Neptune rules the sublime, but it also rules some of the murkiest waters of the unconscious mind. When Neptune is strong, we're apt to see what we want to see and not the way things are, which could lead us into some questionable territory due to the lack of discernment.
The current Mercury Retrograde started off with a conjunction to Neptune, so we're still all under the confusing and chaotic spell of Neptune's waters. The current Sun-Mercury conjunction is reawakening the feeling of wanting to escape. Addictions run rampant under this influence (especially mind-altering substances that help drown out the ego). This is due to the strong longing that we all want so much more than life could ever grant us.
Neptune is the deepest longing of the soul to return to a state of wholeness. Neptune has a way of inducing the sense of imagined fears (of the unknown) and abandonment. Our need to surrender to that which we can't control is the key to navigating Neptune's chaotic and deceptive waters now.
Another way to move through and beyond the "sinking feeling" of this influence is to find solace in the higher octaves of spirit and art. Look for the highest expressions of imagination: music, poetry, dance or simply just spending time near the ocean are all recommended remedies when under Neptune's spell.
