Saturn Retrograde: Sitting Still in the Scorpionic Sea

In our go-go-go culture, it's oftentimes challenging to stop, especially when we are faced with things from which we usually want to run away.

And yet with Saturn stationing retrograde in Scorpio on Monday, February 18, over the next week stopping and being with things that yield dread can actually be a very liberating strategy. So whether the steamy subject you usually shirk from is sex, power, mortality, money, or the occult, sitting with them for a bit can yield a sense of freedom. In the space of stillness we may find incredible lessons that can help us better understand our relationship with these topics.

In the experience of slowing down to be with our fears we can oftentimes see that there is actually much less to fear than we led ourselves to believe. We come to see that it was often the energy we expended in running away from facing these life arenas that caused a greater level of anxiety than the experience itself.

With Saturn in Scorpio we have an opportunity to face and embrace our shadow, the parts of ourselves that we project out onto others. We can mine the deepest resources of our being, finding jewels of emotional strength we may not even thought to have existed.

The periods when Saturn is stationing, about to shift directions, seem to be concentrated times for this self mining and self minding, given that the energetic of the planet is very strong then.
