Halloween’s just around the corner and we all know the drill: You open the door to find some costume-clad kids eagerly awaiting a candy deposit into their treat sacks. You oblige accordingly because sharing goodies with the kids is all part of the fun.
How fitting that this holiday occurs when the Sun is transiting Scorpio (October 23-November 21), the sign of shared resources, among other things. Yes, the whole ghoulish darkness of Halloween also suits mysterious, death-obsessed Scorpio, as well as the identity-concealing costumes (Scorpio is very secretive.) But this holiday also brings out one of Scorpio’s most admirable traits: The ability to take one’s resources and share them with others.
Scorpio is the opposite sign of Taurus, the sign of ownership, values and valuables. Taurus is all about bringing home the bacon and creating wealth. Scorpio, on the other end of the spectrum, takes that wealth and distributes it accordingly. That’s why Scorpio is also the sign of taxes, alimony, and inheritance. Taurus brings the money in and Scorpio doles the money out.
It’s also no surprise that during the Sun’s stay in Scorpio, those of us in America are asked to donate food local food banks in preparation for Thanksgiving. Scorpio taps into Taurus’ superfluous supply and rations it out to others.
So, as the Sun moves through Scorpio, think about how the universe is calling on us to share our bountiful resources with those in need -- and also with those who may just want a sweet treat on Halloween.
