Review Your Past to Plan Your Future!
A new cycle begins this week as Jupiter enters nurturing Cancer on June 25, when you return to your home base. Then, as Mercury (also in Cancer) turns retrograde on June 26, it's time to review past ideas and plans. Finally, love planet Venus enters exuberant Leo on June 27, when entertainment takes your mind off everything else!
June 25: Jupiter enters Cancer
Jupiter spends about one year in each Sun sign, taking a total of 12 years to travel through the full zodiac -- so it's very significant when Jupiter enters a new sign! This year, Jupiter moves into Cancer from talkative, busy Gemini, where your focus has been on exploring your options and getting your message out into the world. It's likely your life has gone through changes during this time: You may have moved, invested in your education, or done something less major but still noteworthy, such as start (or simply join) a book club. Jupiter now enters nurturing Cancer, providing you with an opportunity to slow down, stay home more often, and develop a self-care program. Make this a quality time!
June 26: Mercury turns retrograde
Mercury turns retrograde three times a year, and often all three retrograde periods occur in the same element. This year, Mercury retrogrades in Water signs, and since Water is the element that rules feelings, this is an indicator that people will be processing many emotions. In February and March, Mercury turned retrograde in Pisces; this coming October and November, Mercury will spend its retrograde in Scorpio. This summer's Mercury retrograde is in Cancer, signaling a time when you're likely to feel unusually sensitive since words are colored with deeper feelings. The good news is that this transit gives you an opportunity to share what's going on in your personal life, so expect to return to previous ideas and conversations -- and plan to stay there awhile, since they'll require time and development. Until July 20, when Mercury turns direct, all the usual Mercury retrograde themes apply. Typically, this is a time of confusion, misunderstandings, and delays; at the same time, a thorough review now will help you in the long run. If you know which house (or houses) in your natal chart through which Mercury is traveling, examine these particular areas of your life. And, of course, try to defer any crucial decision-making until after Mercury turns direct!
June 27: Venus enters Leo
Relationship planet Venus leaves Cancer, ending a period when tuning into your feelings about love brought beautiful moments and sweet rewards. Now, it's simply all about romance, entertainment, and having fun! Check out what's going on in your town. See a movie or throw a party. Go out with your friends. Ask somebody out. Hire a babysitter and hang out with other grownups. If you're single, go to an event where you'll be noticed; if you're in a relationship, find an activity that brings you and your partner closer together. Don't waste this fun-loving transit! Venus will be in Leo until July 22.
